Wet start to 2024 Canberra Sprint Coach, January 5, 2024January 5, 2024 The beginning of the new year has brought unseasonable rains so far but with the world class AIS Athletics Track available to FAST Running, sprint training hasn’t missed a beat yet. With the squad now getting back up to speed following a week of festivities there was lots of excitement as everyone dropped FAST times in their opening practice session. Georgia and Sophie represented FAST for Sport and didn’t give an inch to their sprinting rivals as the duo both set their new personal best over 150 on the lightning fast track in Canberra. Fellow FAST Female Siena who’s about to spend three weeks living it up in France, showed she’s in an ominous form with her first taste of sub 20s. Making Siena the fastest junior female sprinter in the ACT at present. Mathias and Daniel found good humour in running real quick on the wet surface by also setting new PBs as well. With Mathias remarking that coach was right and the performance was there for the taking. Vish who’s backed himself this season to run qualifying time for Nationals showed he too was in great shape, hitting his target times in each rep. On Sunday at Summer Series he will be looking to better his 400m PB set only last month. FAST Track News CanberraFAST FemalesFootballRunning TrainingSprinting
