Empowering Sprinters: Equipping Our Team with Life-Saving First Aid Skills Canberra Sprint Coach, March 6, 2024 At FAST Running we appreciate that Sprint training can be physically demanding and may sometimes lead to injuries or accidents. Having members of the group trained in first aid ensures that immediate assistance can be provided in case of any mishaps during training sessions. We are pleased to announce that both Marijke and Steve have just updated their First Aid and CPR qualifications with the Red Cross. Because Injuries or medical emergencies can happen unexpectedly. By having individuals trained in first aid within the group, there’s a higher likelihood of a quick response, which can potentially prevent a minor injury from escalating into a more serious situation. Knowing what to do in an emergency situation instills confidence in both the coaches and the athletes. This confidence can help maintain a calm and composed environment during emergencies, which is crucial for effective management of the situation. Undertaking a first aid course together fosters a sense of teamwork and camaraderie within FAST Running. It encourages members to look out for each other’s safety and well-being, thereby strengthening the bond among team members. Ultimately, the most significant benefit of a first aid course is the potential to save lives. In critical situations, having our coaches trained in first aid can make all the difference between life and death. FAST Running puts the welfare of its members and the athletics community as its number one priority. Community News Athletics CoachCanberraSocial ClubSprinting
