Compression Boots facilitating faster recovery and leading to improvements in performance Canberra Sprint Coach, February 8, 2024May 4, 2024 The FAST Recovery Centre now offers athletes the use of Recovery Boots as part of their recovery arsenal. The latest investment by FAST Running adds the compression/recovery boots along with Active Recovery in the Centre’s Pool, Foam Rolling, Stretching and Mobility group sessions, Ice Bath Hydrotherapy, Light Resistance Training in the FAST Recovery Centre gym, and tips on Nutrition and Hydration for athletes by athletes. The Endurance Relax Recovery Compression Boots have been very beneficial. The Boots consist of inflatable sleeves that wrap around the legs and apply intermittent compression to aid in muscle recovery and improve circulation. These Boots are full length from the foot to the top of the thighs. The Endurance boots come with full length zippers and no velcro. There are 3 modes, 8 intensity levels, and 4 chambers with built in pressure sensors. The Recovery Boots enhance circulation by improving blood flow and lymphatic drainage, which can aid in the removal of metabolic waste products like lactic acid. This enhanced circulation can accelerate the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to muscles, facilitating faster recovery. Sprinting places significant stress on the muscles, leading to muscle soreness and inflammation. Using recovery boots after a sprinting session can help reduce muscle soreness by promoting the clearance of lactic acid. By improving circulation and reducing muscle soreness, recovery boots can contribute to faster recovery times between training sessions and/or competitions. This can allow sprinters to maintain a higher training volume and intensity over time, leading to improvements in performance. The FAST Recovery Centre’s boots provide a convenient and passive recovery option for sprinters. They can be easily used in our training facility, allowing athletes to incorporate them into their recovery routine without requiring additional time or effort. The customizable pressure in the Endurance Relax Recovery Compression Boots allows sprinters to tailor the compression to their specific needs, whether they’re focusing on general recovery, targeting specific muscle groups, or addressing individual recovery issues. The use of these boots in the FAST Recovery Centre allows athletes to actively participate in their recovery process in a relaxed environment, which is valuable for overall recovery and mental recovery.
