2024-25 U20 & Open Championships Canberra Running Coach, January 28, 2025February 5, 2025 The 2024/25 Capital Athletics Open & U20s Championships delivered three thrilling days of high-performance athletics at Australia’s fastest track. Australian Records tumbled as Lachie Kennedy broke the Australian 60m record twice, while Para athlete Summer Giddings achieved a potential world record in the T35 long jump. FAST Running’s up and coming junior stars shone, with standout performances in the 100m, 400m and 800m non-championship events. Facing stiff competition from interstate athletes, Olivia, Isabel and Tom were among only a few local athletes to stand up against the star studded fields. Isi (Gungahlin Little Athletics) performed very well in her 2025 debut being the fastest ACT athlete in her age in the 100m. Her time was just outside her personal best. Tom (Woden Athletics) raced both the 400m and 800m. He pulled off a miraculous win in his heat of the 800m with a stunning last 200m surge that caught everyone off guard. His winning time was new PB along with his 400m PB the day before where he finished second overall. Both times are fastest than the current Woden Athletics Club Records which when ratified will be Tom’s first Club Records. All three of our athletes are eligible to compete in the 2025 Capital Athletics Underage Championships U9-U18 from 21 February 2025. They will be joined by a number of FAST’s best up and coming athletes. 100m Name Year Team Finals Wind H# Points =============================================================================== 1 Ifejika, Ruth 10 New South Wales-AUS 12.45 -1.8 2 2 Tattersall, Mia 10 New South Wales-AUS 13.01 -1.8 2 3 Mitchell, Charlie 11 New South Wales-AUS 13.49 -1.8 2 4 Page, Lillian 11 New South Wales-AUS 13.55 0.8 3 5 Winikerei, Isabel 11 Gungahlin Li-AUS 14.48 0.8 3 -- Chukwudi, Divine 11 New South Wales-AUS DQ -1.8 2 TR16.4 -- Jose, Olivia 11 Ginninderra-AUS DQ -1.8 2 TR16.4 400m Name Year Team Finals H# Points========================================================================== 1 Keats, Harry 10 New South Wales-AUS 52.57 1 2 Madigan, Thomas 10 Woden Athlet-AUS 53.87 1 3 Crews, Darby 10 New South Wales-AUS 54.37 1 4 Tannous, Robert 10 New South Wales-AUS 57.33 1 5 Wilkinson, Ross 10 Weston Creek-AUS 58.76 2 6 Cole, Thomas 10 Goulburn-Mul-AUS 1:02.28 2 800m Name Year Team Finals H# Points========================================================================== 1 Wood, William 10 New South Wales-AUS 2:00.31 1 2 Calcarao, Cristiano 11 New South Wales-AUS 2:01.53 1 3 Krayem, Zane 10 New South Wales-AUS 2:01.95 1 4 Haydon, Ellis 10 New South Wales-AUS 2:04.92 1 5 Hosking, Logan 10 New South Wales-AUS 2:07.76 1 6 Madigan, Thomas 10 Woden Athlet-AUS 2:08.80 2 7 Fletcher, Noah 11 New South Wales-AUS 2:13.95 2 8 Wilkinson, Ross 10 Weston Creek-AUS 2:21.80 2 9 Pinches, Archie 11 New South Wales-AUS 2:33.78 2 FAST Track News BelconnenGinninderra AthleticsGungahlinResultsSprintingTeensWoden Athletics
