Pushing the Limits Canberra Sprint Coach, January 19, 2025January 19, 2025 FAST Performance Training 4 Weeks Out With just four weeks to go before the Capital Athletics Championships, training at FAST Running hits a new level of intensity. This is the time when our FAST Performance athletes dig deep, pushing through challenges and fine-tuning their craft in the relentless pursuit of excellence. The Grind of Pre-Competition Preparation Training sessions during this phase are designed to simulate the demands of competition, focusing on speed, endurance, and mental resilience. Every stride, every rep, and every drill is executed with precision, leaving no room for complacency. It’s about pushing past limits, embracing discomfort, and trusting the process. For Vish, Daniel, and Tom, the hard work is etched in their determination. Their photo, taken after an intense session at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) track, tells the story of effort and camaraderie. Bent over in reflection after their final hard hit-out, they embody the grit and focus required to prepare for the big stage. Chasing Excellence Together At FAST Running, training isn’t just about physical preparation—it’s about the bond between athletes who share a common goal. Vish, Daniel, and Tom’s session involved grueling interval sets, targeting both top-end speed and lactic threshold. Encouraging each other through the pain, they demonstrated what it means to be part of a team that thrives on “Running Excellence.” The Challenges of the Final Stretch The weeks leading up to competition are often the toughest. Fatigue sets in, mental battles arise, and the temptation to ease off becomes real. But it’s in these moments that champions are made. Our athletes know that overcoming these challenges not only prepares their bodies but strengthens their resolve to excel when it matters most. Looking Ahead As the countdown continues, Vish, Daniel, and Tom will taper their training, sharpening their focus and conserving energy for race day. Their hard work on the AIS track will serve as a foundation for the performances they’re about to deliver. Inspiring the FAST Community Their journey is a reminder of the dedication it takes to reach the top. At FAST Running, we celebrate the resilience, passion, and teamwork that define our athletes. Whether you’re preparing for a major competition or striving for your personal best, their story shows what’s possible when you commit to the pursuit of excellence.
