Charlotte Hun: From FAST for Sport to the AFLW Pathway

FAST Running - Charlotte Hun

FAST Running has always believed that running excellence extends beyond the track.

Tonight, that belief was brought to life as Charlotte Hun completed her final training session with FAST before taking the next step in her sporting journey — acceptance into the AFL Women’s pathway with Geelong Cats, beginning with a VFL contract and the opportunity to train and live alongside senior AFLW athletes.

This is the pinnacle of Charlotte’s sport.
And it’s exactly the outcome FAST for Sport was designed to support.

Built for Sport. Built for Life.

Charlotte joined FAST through our FAST for Sport program — a pathway created for athletes whose primary arena may not be the athletics track, but who understand that speed, power, movement quality and resilience are decisive advantages in their chosen sport.

From Adelaide to Ainslie, and into the FAST environment, Charlotte embraced the work.

Acceleration mechanics.
Sprint efficiency.
Strength under fatigue.
Repeat effort capacity.

But just as importantly — discipline, confidence, and belief.

The FAST approach does not aim to turn every athlete into a sprinter.
It aims to make every athlete better prepared — physically and mentally — for the demands of their sport.

On the field.
And off it.

Running Excellence, Redefined

Running excellence isn’t only about times on a clock.

It’s about helping athletes reach their goals.

Charlotte’s progression into the AFLW pathway is a powerful example of what happens when athletes are supported with structure, intent and care — regardless of sport, age or background.

This moment belongs to Charlotte.
But it also reflects the strength of a system that values development over shortcuts, and long-term outcomes over short-term wins.

The Next Chapter

FAST Running will proudly follow Charlotte’s journey as she begins this next chapter with Geelong. She leaves our environment not because the work is finished — but because it has done its job.

We will always be cheering louder than ever.

Running excellence doesn’t stop at the track.
Sometimes, it leads straight to the footy field.
