Summer Series: 30 November 2024 Canberra Running Coach, November 30, 2024December 5, 2024 The heavens opened up on 30 November just in time for Summer Series. It was quite the introduction for Isabel Winikerei who made the way out for her first ever race with Capital Athletics. Despite the heavy rain, Isabel managed a new personal best in the Women’s 100m (14.23s) slicing 0.14s off her previous mark set at School Sport ACT Secondary Schools Championships in September. Isi didn’t stop there, she backed up a short time later to be the fastest U14W in the 200m (30.18s). Running right alongside her younger teammate was University of Canberra Sprinter Rose Cajetan who was second fastest open woman in the 200m (28.95s) and third fastest in the 100m (13.57s), both times just off her PB in each event only set back on 16 November during a much drier Summer Series. Simeon Omosigho was also running his first Summer Series of the season and his first race since the ACT Schools Champs. Simeon’s time in the rain (11.84s) was just off his PB of 11.78s run in September. Simeon is hoping to lower this mark when he next races in Brisbane at All Schools. Tom Madigan yet again lowered his 400m PB this season with an impressive 54.27s. Along with Simeon and the team he’s looking to make the final in Brisbane next week. Tom has lowered his 400m time over 10 seconds over the space of the last 12 months. A remarkable accomplishment from the 13 year old.
