The importance of incorporating hill sprints Canberra Sprint Coach, June 22, 2024August 27, 2024 Usain Bolt believes that “hill training is very tough, but it builds muscles that you don’t get to work on when you’re running on flat ground. It makes you stronger and faster”. This quote underscores the importance of incorporating hill sprints into FAST Running’s training regime by Canberra Sprint Coach, Steve Dodt. Over the cooler months of the year, FAST Running make regular appearances running the hills around Canberra. Our favourites are Regatta Point, Parliament House, Stromlo Forest Park, and Governor-Generals. Today’s session at Regatta Point was just under 8 degrees with a cool southerly breeze. In-between runs the squad admired the beautiful views in the Parliamentary Triangle and Lake Burley Griffin. If you would like to add some variation to your training, please contact us about attending our next hill session! FAST & Active FAST Track News AdultsCanberraMature TeensRunning TrainingYoung Adults
